About Mojacar

Thanks to tourism, Mojácar Playa has developed into an idyllic resort. Money has been invested in the area and now has its own commercial centre with bars, restaurants, beauty salons, supermarkets and much more. The roads are excellent, with one main street running along a beautiful sandy beach, with Chiringuitos (beach bars) all the way along, it is an excellent place to visit for all the family.

With the village (Pueblo) only 2km away perched on the mountains like a crown on a monarch, overlooking a unique landscape of mountains and pastures as far as the eye can see, falling down to the beautiful coastline.

Ostensibly a beach resort it is busiest in the summer when it is visited by the northern Spanish as well as English, German, Italian, French and American tourists. It has a wide selection of accommodation available from 4 star hotels, self-catering apartments to hostels. If you are looking for an activity holiday, the Playa is the place to find it. You can learn how to scuba dive, sail, and windsurf. You will find quad bike treks, horse riding, motorbike trekking, micro lighting, paragliding, rock climbing, walking, or dancing! Is one week going to be enough?

If you just want to relax, there is a 7km sandy beach which has been awarded a blue flag status for the last 5 years and it is well serviced with showers, bars and restaurants. It is essential when visiting Mojácar that you buy one of the Indalo man talismans. This is believed to have a magical power, which will protect you and your home from the ‘evil eye’ and other bad spirits.
